This document contains the FAQ and information for speakers at VCF Montréal 2.0.
DEADLINE
The deadline for submitting a speaker proposal for VCF Montréal 2.0 is August 7, 2026.
To submit your proposal, email us at vcfmontreal@cvcfed.org.
TYPES OF TALK
We invite speakers to propose talks of either of these types:
- General Talks — Stories and history about vintage computers, designed for the general public with minimal technical detail.
- Technical Talks — Sessions designed to teach a skill, suitable for a more technical audience. Levels range from beginner to advanced.
If you wish to give more than one talk, please submit each proposal in a separate email.
DURATION OF TALK
Your talk should be 45 minutes in duration, including time for Q&A.
FACILITIES
Talks are given from a stage to a seated audience in an auditorium-style setting at Champlain College Saint-Lambert, 900 Riverside Drive, Saint-Lambert, QC.
Please specify ahead of time which connections you need. HDMI and VGA are available.
ACCEPTANCE PROCESS
- Send your proposal by email to vcfmontreal@cvcfed.org.
- Within 2–5 days we will send you an acknowledgement of your submission.
- If your proposal is accepted, we will schedule your talk into the program and provide details on when, where, and how to attend and present.

TYPES DE CONFÉRENCE
Nous invitons les conférenciers à proposer l'un des types de présentation suivants :
- Conférences grand public — Histoires et historique des ordinateurs anciens, destinées au grand public avec un minimum de contenu technique.
- Conférences techniques — Sessions conçues pour enseigner un savoir-faire, adaptées à un public technique. Niveau débutant à avancé.
Si vous souhaitez proposer plusieurs conférences, veuillez soumettre chaque proposition dans un courriel séparé.
DURÉE DE LA CONFÉRENCE
Votre présentation doit durer 45 minutes, incluant le temps de questions/réponses.
INSTALLATIONS
Les conférences se tiennent sur scène devant un auditoire en disposition auditorium au Collège Champlain Saint-Lambert, 900 chemin Riverside, Saint-Lambert, QC.
Veuillez indiquer à l'avance les connexions dont vous avez besoin. HDMI et VGA sont disponibles.
PROCESSUS D'ACCEPTATION
- Envoyez votre proposition par courriel à vcfmontreal@cvcfed.org.
- Dans un délai de 2 à 5 jours, nous vous enverrons un accusé de réception de votre candidature.
- Si votre proposition est acceptée, nous l'intégrerons au programme et vous communiquerons les détails concernant la date, le lieu et les modalités pour donner votre conférence.
